Jayne Quam
Serpentine Bird, Horned Owl by Jayne Quam
A prominent dark brownish green, grayish cream veined and minimal cream veined serpentine horned owl carved by Jayne Quam looking slightly to it's right side with big wonky shaped turquoise inlaid eyes. Carved by Jayne Quam, the bird has Jayne's signature inlaid stones and shells inlaid to the sides and back of the bird - featuring bits of pink mussel shell, turquoise, spiny oyster, rainbow fluorite, apple coral, mussel shell, azurite, malachite and purple sugilite to name most. The great horned owl is named for the tufts of feathers that sit on top of its head, called plumicorns. The Zuni believe the owl can see what others can not - they assist in helping to root out deception and they can get to the essence of true wisdom. Owls are messengers from the spirit realm - bringing wisdom, truth, and understanding of the mysteries of life.
