Hubert Pincion, Deceased
Alabaster Horse by Hubert Pincion, Deceased
A cream and soft tan streaked alabaster horse carved by the now deceased Hubert Pincion. Hubert was the last Zuni carver to create his animals solely with hand tools - he is sorely missed. Sadly, Hubert died in October of 2018. Each leg is solely carved with hand tools in the round - thanks to the base created as well from the same stone. The horse represents the power of the animal world literally "harnessed" for the benefit of the human race. Horse medicine calls the self to expand one's own potential abilities, tethering control of the environment, inter-species communication and offers us a good example of cooperation. The Zuni believe the horse has healing powers.
